Uncle Hal, My memories of you are long and many, as you have been present throughout my entire life. You were one of the branches that made up my family tree strong. To be sure...It was not a true family gathering without Aunt Lori and Uncle Hal being there! Childhood birthday parties, Thanksgiving/Christmas dinners, Christenings and Weddings; All happy family times. But you were also there for the difficult times. We could depend on you to give advice and guidance. When I see you in my mind, tall and slender, I will always see and feel your happy smile; And inevitably a song was soon to follow as you swayed with your hands tucked in your belt. Oh, and let me not forget that golf swing right there in the kitchen! Our Holiday meals were blessed by you, and every left-over was eaten by you (although it never showed in a pound extra). I always looked forward to your "snow-bird" visits to Florida. Catching up with long chats on what was happening here and there. The visits always seemed too short! In 1977, my life was forever changed by events that you set forth. You helped me obtain a job with ITT, Space Communications in New Jersey. I had no idea how much my life would be changed when I was given that opportunity. For it was there that I met Per, and found new love and a new life. For this I will always say, "Thank You Uncle Hal". You helped open doors that I thought were forever locked. I will miss my birthday poems, but you have been called upon to write heavenly poems now. Whisper one in my ear. Be at Peace Uncle Hal, you will forever be missed, and always loved. Sue

I don't think I ever saw Mr. Dorer without a smile on his face. He was a delightful man to be around .The love for his family, especially his grandchildren shined through his wonderful smile. He leaves behind wonderful memories for his family to cherish. May the comfort of friends and family help you all through this difficult time. With our sympathy and Gods blessings.

It's hard to sum up so many warm and wonderful memories. I hear a teasing voice singing, 'Silver Threads among the Gold' to let us know we too were getting older. We recall the precise directions and instructions to the Vermont ski house. Nothing left out; nothing missed. We picture family gatherings in happier times. We recall his courage in the face of illness. We wish only comforting memories to Aunt Lori, David, Pamela, Carolanne, Alan and their families. We wish Uncle Hal peace.

Uncle Hal was always there for anyone who needed him for advice. My brother Peter and I spent some time at there house in Jersey. He always had a joke to tell. He will truly be missed.
