Obituary of Perlie Lynch

Please share a memory of Perlie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, Perlie Lynch (nee Walters), 77, passed away at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville, NJ surrounded by her loved ones. Born in November 1946, in Birds Hill, Jamaica, Perlie's life was a tapestry of love, kindness, joy, and wisdom - the simple pleasures that make a life well-lived.

Perlie's early years in Jamaica were filled with the vibrant culture that shaped her into a woman of strength and character. Her journey led her to the Bahamas in 1969 and she eventually immigrated to the USA in 1971, living in NY. Eventually she moved to NJ and finally settled in Montville in 1977, where she lived until her passing. She was married to Stanley Lynch. Perlie worked at Gotthelf Knitting Mills in Boonton for many years until the factory closed. She went back to school and studied to become a home health aide and certified nurse's assistant and began working at Visiting Nurses Association, alongside Sunrise Assisted Living. Perlie dedicated 30+ years of her life to her work, which she loved, and was very passionate about helping others.

Her passion for life was evident in her love for her cats, puzzles, crossword puzzles, and trivia, which not only served as a testament to her sharp mind but also provided hours of joy. Perlie spent countless hours watching some of her favorite TV shows: Naked and Afraid, 600lb Life, Nova and National Geographic. She was an avid baseball, basketball, and football watcher of sports, in general anything to keep the TV to herself.

Above all, Perlie was an adoring grandmother. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she reveled in seeing them, and witnessing their achievements and adventures. Her legacy of love, patience, and kindness is deeply ingrained in their hearts, and her stories will be told for generations to come.

Perlie was the sister of five: Pancheta (Sunshine) Carnegie of MD, Glenville Carnegie and his wife, Dolly of NC, Dulcie (Didi) Carnegie of FL, and she was predeceased by her brother, Hervin Walters and her sister, Yvette Johnson, both of Jamaica. She had seven children, Noel Harvey of JA, Joan Prendergast (Allan Prendergast), Orville Lynch, Regis Lynch (Laura Capone) all of NJ; Stacy Lynch of FL, and Stanley Lynch, Jr. of NJ. She was predeceased by Fernando Lynch (Sheldon) of NJ. She leaves behind eleven grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who were near and dear to her heart.

Perlie Lynch's life was a journey of love, learning, and laughter. She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, and her memory will be treasured forever. As we say farewell to Perlie, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the indelible mark she left on the world.
