Diane Patricia (Kuhl) Johanson, 85, of Frostburg, MD, formerly of Dover, NJ, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024.

Diane was born in Bayonne, NJ to William and Helen (Horn) Kuhl in May 1938. She grew up in Boonton and graduated from Boonton High School in 1956. Diane went on to earn her associate's degree in Nursing from The Montgomery School of Nursing. She was a nurse at Morristown Memorial Hospital and Dover General Hospital before retiring.

Diane met the love of her life, David J. Johanson, in 1955 at Boonton High School and they married in 1960, settling in Dover, NJ. After retiring they relocated to Frostburg, MD.

Diane enjoyed reading and traveling. Her passion was being a floor nurse at the hospital. She was a loyal volunteer to the Literacy Volunteers of Morris County and was so proud of her many students.

Predeceased by her parents, William and Helen Kuhl; and her sister, Elaine Krudop; Diane is survived by her beloved husband, David; her cherished children, David J. Johanson, Jr.; Lauri Schmitt and her husband, Charles E.Schmitt; and Stacey Johanson; her adored grandsons, Nicholas and his wife, Amy; Adam and Gregory; her beautiful great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Jac; her loving brother, William Kuhl, Jr.; and her nieces and nephews.

Diane will be interred at Rockaway Valley Cemetery, Valley Rd, Boonton Township, NJ on Monday, May 13th at 11:00am. Arrangements were provided by Codey & Mackey Funeral Home of Boonton. To share a condolence or memory with the family, please visit CodeyMackeyFH.com.
