We have been friends with Tom since 1969. He was such a dear person. He was funny, witty, intelligent and so kind and loving to us. He is our oldest son's Godfather and was such a good example of our Catholic faith. We will miss him so much. May God hold him forever in the palm of His hand.

Tom was a wonderful neighborhood friend of my husband Paul where they grew up only houses away from each other. Tom had a great sense of humor. Together with Tom’s wife Sandra we have many happy shared memories.

Tom and Sandy’s friendship has been very important to me. I met Tom and Sandy on Oakley Avenue in Chicago when I was dating his friend and my future husband , Paul, a good fried of Tom’s.
We made many memories together , full of laughter and delicious dinners at each other’s homes. Tom had a great sense of humor; Sandy; an excellent cook.
Sending love to you Sandy and all the family.

He always made me laugh. His sense of humor was priceless. Lindsey still tells the story of them playing hide and seek with Grandma - both of them hiding in the closet. They also liked to ring the bell to let Grandma know that she could bring them lunch. I loved going to dinner at the house and seeing my name tag down at his end of the table. We always had a good laugh. Great family, good times!!!!

During the last 25 years, we were able to share many lasting memories with Tom and Sandy. Our annual visits to Florida always included a dinner in Venice with the Haupts. Tom was a great conversationalist, very open and true to his convictions. We also shared in their 50th wedding anniversary celebration in Lake Forest and toasted Tom on his 80th birthday dinner in Venice. His parting leaves a void that cannot be filled and we will miss him dearly.
