James Pope posted a condolence

To all of the Lynch families, I hope this is not too late to get to you. I found her obit when I was scrolling on the Cumberland Times in December.
I am Jimmy Pope, husband of the deceased Dolores ( Dodie ) Pope.
Dodie and your mom were two of the group of special girls at Frostburg State from 1949 to 1953.I first knew Your mom from 1952 when I enrolled at Frostburg State.
There were probably 8 or more girls that would go to the Clary Club at Clarysville on Saturday night for dancing and friendship. Most (or all) of the fellows married the girl they were dating at that time.
The photo was a beautiful photo of your mom, just as I remember her.
My sympathy is extended to each of you. May she rest in peace.
Dodie died on May 28,2022. another of the group, B.J. Diggs died in November ,2023. This as best as i know, are the last of the group. Only, Bob Stuckey, husband of Ann and I are the only 2 remaining husbands of the group.
In Memory, Jim Pope dmgjlp @ aol.com

To Stephanie and the entire Lynch Family,
I was so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She was one of the most gracious people I have ever known. She and your dad were exceptional -- genuine, thoughtful, and equal parts engaged and engaging.
I appreciated so many of your mom's qualities, not the least of which was her gift for making people feel comfortable. She did it in such a gentle and good-humored way. I still remember the first time I came to the house and met her. I was a shy, awkward teenager trying not to call too much attention to myself. As we sat down to talk in the family room, I made the (unknowingly) bold move of choosing the chair that, of course, turned out to be Lucky's. The room went quiet, and I realized what I'd done. I mouthed to Stephanie, "This is the dog's chair, isn't it?". Before she could answer, the room just burst into laughter. Your mom got such a kick out of it. I knew right away that I was among friends.
You were blessed to have Juanita and John as your parents. Now, you are blessed to have each other as you feel their loss and continue the legacy of warmth, caring and kindness they built. I hope you take comfort in all of the happy memories you share.

Nita was a sweet and wonderful woman. We had great fun playing volleyball and tennis together.
But our best partnership was the marriage of my daughter Weslee and her son John. Together they gave us two beautiful granddaughters and three adorable great-grandsons.
God bless you Nita. May you rest in Peace.
