The Mirz family is heartbroken to share that Frances A. Mirz of Mountain Lakes, NJ, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the age of 92.

Frances was born in the Bronx, NY, near Fordham University, in April of 1931 to William and Frances Alice (nee Cathcart) Buttner. She married William Mirz in 1954 and they raised four boys – William, Robert, Michael, and Peter. As a child, Frances desired to be a teacher, but circumstances did not allow that to happen. However, she taught Sunday School for many years as well as sang in the choir.

Frances was the kindest woman, and her family is thankful for every moment and memory they had with her. She had boundless love for her family, her friends and God; and touched countless people during her life. Frances lit up a room with her smile and shared the warmth in her heart with all those she met. Her faith was unwavering and carried her through until the end. She instilled in each of her children her love, affection, and guidance. They know they are better people because of her.

Visiting with the family will take place at The New Apostolic Church, 819 Edwards Road, Parsippany, NJ on Saturday, October 7th from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. The Memorial Service will begin at 1:00pm.

She was predeceased by her husband, William; and her sons, William John Mirz and Robert Louis Mirz. Frances is survived by her sons, Michael Mirz and Peter Mirz (Susan); her brother, George Buttner; her sisters, Gerri Suter and Mary Sweeney; her grandchildren, Daniel, David, Reid, Logan, Bennett and Madison; her great-granddaughter, Gianna; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
