Obituary of Patrick C. Carmody

Please share a memory of Patrick to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
DENVILLE Patrick C. Carmody,51, of Denville died on Friday, September 9, 2011. He was the biggest fan of the Rolling Stones --- to know this was to know him. Born in 1960 in Jersey City, NJ, he went on to attend Stockton College as an undergraduate and the University of Pennsylvania for Dental School. Patrick had a huge sense of adventure and was always up for anything. He loved to travel and experience new cultures and was passionate about cooking. At one point he worked at Luzzi's in Hibernia. Patrick lived his entire life in New Jersey working at Denville Line Painting for 20 years. He had a wicked sense of humor but was a compassionate person always willing to help out and loved animals; he had many throughout his life including a pet snake as a teenager. Having experienced some of life's up's and down's, Patrick was finally content with is life. He knew better than anyone "that you can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, well you might find, you get what you need." Patrick is survived by his three sisters, Eileen Hammers of Finlay, Ohio, Barbara Sanandres of Longboat Key, Florida and Maureen Valente of Denville, eight nieces and nephews and 14 grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Memorial visitation will be held on Monday, September 12, 2011 from 5 - 8 PM at Mackey Funeral Home (mackeyfh.com) 107 Essex Ave., Boonton. All other services and interment will be private. Contributions in Patrick's name may be made to the Mental Health Association of Morris County, Inc. 100 Route 46 E, Building C, Mountain Lakes, NJ 07046 or to the Milestone House, 60 N. Sussex St., Dover, NJ 07801. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
