Jacquelin S. Denton, 77, of Boonton, NJ passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

Jackie was born in September of 1945 to George S. and Florence (Himmelman) Siekielski. She grew up in Boonton, graduated from Boonton High School in 1963 and was certified as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) in 1965.

Jackie began her nursing career at Morristown Memorial Hospital and later worked in various units at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville. She is remembered by her former colleagues as a fantastic mentor and phenomenal nurse, who took great pride in taking care of her patients. Jackie also spent some time as the school nurse at Boonton High School.

Over the years, Jackie enjoyed traveling with her best friend and “sister”, Michelle Provissiero, and was a second mom to Michelle’s children, Lisa, Paul and Jennifer. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, and will be greatly missed by her childhood friend and longtime companion, Rich Ply, who she lovingly cared for.

In recent years, Jackie reconnected with many old friends, family and coworkers through social media and was affectionately known as “JSD”. She was a true Boonton-ite and proudly shared her knowledge of Boonton history whenever she got the chance. She will be especially missed on the Boonton Facebook pages.

Jackie is survived by her beloved son, George W. Johnson, IV; his wife, Susan; and their son, Matthew; her brother, George S. Siekielski, Jr. and his family; her companion, Richard Ply; his children, Chris Ply; his wife, Kim; and their children, Alex and Aaralyn; Laurie Russell; her husband, Greg; and their children, Ethan and Ally; and many, many friends.
