MOUNTAIN LAKES---John M. Connell, III died Thursday, June 23, 2011 at his home following a long illness. He was 63. Born in Woodhaven, Queens, NY, he lived in Millburn for 3 years, then Madison for 18 years before moving to Mountain Lakes 14 years ago. Mr. Connell was a broker with Merrill Lynch/Bank of America, Morristown for the past 34 years. He had not retired. John graduated from Mountain Lakes High School in 1965 and received his bachelor's degree in political science from Drew University, Madison in 1970. He was a past-commodore and 27- year member of the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club where he was extremely active in all club functions. He was a former vestryman at Grace Episcopal Church, Madison. His father, John M. "Jack" Connell, Jr., predeceased him on June 13th of this year. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Martha (nee Mann); two daughters, Aynsley E. and Gillian H., both of Brooklyn Heights, NY; his mother, Margaret Helen Connell (nee Kocmieroski) of Denville; a brother, Barry N. Connell and his wife Susan of Newburyport, MA and a sister, Margaret Connell and her husband James Lukens of Amesbury, MA. Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 PM at the Mackey Funeral Home (mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton, with a funeral service to be held at 4:00 P.M. The interment will be private. In addition, a memorial celebration of John's life will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at a time to be announced at the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club. Memorial contributions in John's name may be made to either the Carol G.
