Hi, Nicole, Elliott and Maddie
I am so sorry to hear about Patrick. What a tremendous shock and loss to your family.
A Patrick story:
One morning on the way to the bus stop, met Patrick and the kids as usual.
Patrick had the bright idea to put one foot on each of the kids' scooter and have Basil tow him
to the bus stop. He asked me to hold his coffee, then changed his mind because he know I would drink
day old coffee, and he WAS NOT trusting me with the good stuff.
I told him I didn't think it was such a good idea, he was determined, but then I told him if he did it in front
of the kids they would surely try such a stunt themselves.
He reluctantly agreed.
What a great man whose loss came way to soon.

We love Patrick. Nicole, Elliott and Maddy. We all grew through childhoods & friendships, together. Patrick made us all believe that we could do anything! Continue up a trail to finally reach that scenic view, just one more run on a ski day, or the "lick your plate clean" before dessert club with our kids. He led many small adventures that ended in memorable evenings of celebrations, games & laughter. Thank you for touching our lives and bringing your full, indomitable spirit, Patrick. We are all better for having known you.

Hi Nicole Firstly I would like to send my condolences - it was a shock and a tragedy. I used to work with Patrick at Xilinx (I was based in Scotland and so I would meet up with Patrick at our SJ offsites over many years). We spent many an offsite evening in San Jose trying to solve Xilinx’s and more often than not, the world’s problems. I never had an uneventful evening with Patrick :0). As I mentioned I am from the Scottish office and so whisky was the drink of choice as a night cap (although Patrick did try to show me the virtues of Tequila). We would start by talking about Xilinx, start-ups, family, holidays and so on, and inevitably the night cap would end up finishing at 3 or 4 in the morning with us just joking and laughing. He was a good friend. Please raise a whisky from his old Scottish friend at his celebration. Kindest regards Stuart Nisbet
