Obituary of William L. Bonanni

BOONTON---William L. "Bill" Bonanni died Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Morristown Medical Center following a brief illness. He was 80. Born in Boonton, he was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Boonton High School in 1949 where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He received his bachelor's degree in business from Seton Hall University in 1962. Mr. Bonanni was vice-president of the Boonton office of Citizens First National Bank for 38 years before retiring in 1992. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Bill was a longtime member and past-president (1969-1970) of the Kiwanis Club of Boonton and served actively for many years as treasurer of the Club and also the Kiwanis Ambulance Service of Boonton. In addition, he was a member of the Boonton Area Chamber of Commerce and the Boonton Historical Society among many community related activities. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Evaline (nee Edmondson); a son, David L. Bonanni and his wife Laurie Seaton of Fairfax, VA; two daughters, Lynann Galuska and her husband Tom of Wharton and Judy DeSaye and her husband Bob of Newburgh, NY; a sister, Elizabeth Maurer of Montville and six cherished grandchildren, Kate, Tyler, Leah, Michelle, Erica and Haley. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 14th at 10:00 A.M. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 10 N. Pocono Rd., Mountain Lakes with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Boonton.
