BOONTON---William L. "Bill" Bonanni died Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Morristown Medical Center following a brief illness. He was 80. Born in Boonton, he was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Boonton High School in 1949 where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He received his bachelor's degree in business from Seton Hall University in 1962. Mr. Bonanni was vice-president of the Boonton office of Citizens First National Bank for 38 years before retiring in 1992. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Bill was a longtime member and past-president (1969-1970) of the Kiwanis Club of Boonton and served actively for many years as treasurer of the Club and also the Kiwanis Ambulance Service of Boonton. In addition, he was a member of the Boonton Area Chamber of Commerce and the Boonton Historical Society among many community related activities. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Evaline (nee Edmondson); a son, David L. Bonanni and his wife Laurie Seaton of Fairfax, VA; two daughters, Lynann Galuska and her husband Tom of Wharton and Judy DeSaye and her husband Bob of Newburgh, NY; a sister, Elizabeth Maurer of Montville and six cherished grandchildren, Kate, Tyler, Leah, Michelle, Erica and Haley. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 14th at 10:00 A.M. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 10 N. Pocono Rd., Mountain Lakes with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Boonton. Friends may call Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Mackey Funeral Home (mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton. Memorial contributions in Bill's name may be made to the Kiwanis Ambulance Service of Boonton, P.O. Box 16, Boonton, NJ 07005. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home
