Loving Wife, Mother & Sister
Jean C. Walker of Boonton Township, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 after a long illness. She was 62.
Jean was born in Passaic, NJ to Raymond and Anita (Sandri) Cesaletti, one of eight children. She grew up in Clifton, NJ and graduated from Paul VI High School. Jean went on to earn her Bachelors Degree in Physics and her Masters in Geology from Montclair State University. She also was an adjunct Geology professor at the University.
In high school, Jean met the love of her life, Michael Walker and was happily wed for 40 years. Jean became an Environmental Specialist for the NJDEP. She was then employed by Essex Regional Health Commission where she held the positions of Program Coordinator and Chief Enforcement Officer. Jean was the CEHA Coordinator and lastly became a Health Officer with the County of Essex Department of Health.
Jean loved reading and nature - walking on the beach in Cape Cod; collecting shells and rocks; bird watching; geology and hiking. Jean was an exceptional singer and guitar player. She was asked to perform at many weddings for friends and family. Jean would often pick up a guitar at a family event and capture the room's attention with her flawless lyrical memory.
Jean was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael; her cherished daughter, Brannagh Jane; her loving brothers, Raymond, William and Michael Cesaletti; her devoted sisters, Carol Cesaletti, Donna Albino, Claire Cesaletti and Mary Ruegg; nieces and nephews; and many family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 8th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Codey & Mackey Funeral Home.
