BOONTON TOWNSHIP---Ruth VanKoppen Bott died Saturday, May 7, 2011. She was 87. Born in Butler, she lived there until moving to Boonton Township in 1952. Mrs. Bott was a production supervisor at Johanson Manufacturing Co., Boonton Township for 20 years before retiring in 1985. She was a former member of the Rockaway Valley United Methodist Church, a former member of the Rockaway Valley Garden Club and was instrumental in creating the wildflower trail at the Morris County Tourne Park. Her husband, Irwin "Skip" Bott, died in 1999. She is survived by two daughters, Laura Chadwick and her husband Glenn of Boonton and Carol Holder and her husband Chris of Mount Arlington; a beloved granddaughter, Lindsay Chadwick Gordon and a cherished great grandson, Ryan Chadwick Gordon. At her request and the request of the family, all funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions in Ruth's name may be made to the Montville Animal Shelter, 195 Changebridge Rd., Montville, NJ 07045. Arrangements were by Mackey Funeral Home (mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton.
