Obituary of Herbert S. Fox

MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP---Herbert S. Fox died Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, CT following a brief illness. He was 80. Born in Montville he was a lifelong resident. Mr. Fox was a machinist at Boonton Molding Company for many years before retiring in 1996. He was a 1948 graduate of Boonton High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Herb was an exempt member of the Montville Fire Department, Excelsior Company #1 serving as chief for two terms and was a member of the Montville Senior Citizens. His wife, Adelaide Milette (Wirth) Fox, died in 2007. He is survived by his three daughters, Linda Curran and Elizabeth Court both of Boonton and Jean Smith of Portland, CT; two sons, Herbert F. Fox of Sunland, CA and Michael J. Fox of Playa Vista, CA, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 1, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at the Mackey Funeral Home (mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton, NJ with interment to follow at the Montville United Methodist Church Cemetery, Towaco. Friends may call on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Herb's name may be made to the Montville Fire Department, Excelsior Fire Company #1, 108 Main Road, Montville, NJ 07045. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
