James A. Dye, 90, of Randolph, NJ, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019. Born in Easton, PA to George and Josephine (Dick) Dye, Jim was raised in Phillipsburg, NJ. He met his wife, Sylvia, who was working in the same office at Ingersoll Rand. The couple wed in 1961 in New York City, later moved to Manchester, CT in 1970, prior to moving to Randolph, NJ in 1975 where they have lived ever since. Jim graduated from Lafayette College in 1950 with a bachelor's degree in engineering. Mr. Dye proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge he worked for Ingersoll Rand, Inc. in Phillipsburg for 38 years, retiring in 1992. Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sylvia, just 4 months ago. Surviving are his devoted son, James A. Dye, also many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 9:30 – 11:30 am. Followed by a service and entombment at the Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, East Hanover, NJ at Noon. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Jim, to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org)
