BOONTON---Mary Lou ("May") Chatpman (nee Beatty) died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in Robbinsville, NJ following a long illness. She was 59.



Born in Morristown, she was a lifelong resident of Boonton, graduating from Boonton High School in 1970. She attended Wagner College, Staten Island and received her certificate in early childhood education from County College of Morris.



Mrs. Chatpman was a child care worker at Parsippany Child Day Care for several years before retiring, due to her illness, in 2009.



She was a lifelong member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church, Boonton Township, where she sang in the choir, and served with the usher board, the nursing unit, the scholarship board, the youth ministry and the welcome committee.



She is survived by her mother, Louise McCullough Beatty of Boonton; a son Shawn Beatty of Boonton; two daughters, Jennifer Beatty of Paterson and Catlin Chatpman of Boonton; a brother, Ernest McCullough of Little Falls and six cherished grandchildren, Kaylah, Jessica, Alexander, Kaitlyn, Cameron and Damon.



Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 5th at 11:00 A.M. at the Mount Zion Baptist Church, 4 Church Road, Boonton Township. There will be no hours of visitation and the burial will be private.



Memorial contributions in May's name may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, 1111 Stewart Ave., Bethpage, NY 11714. Envelopes will be available at the church.
