MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP---Kenneth C. Mehrhof died Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at his home following an apparent heart attack. He was 92. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Fox Chapel, PA for 15 years before moving to the Lake Valhalla section of Montville 30 years ago. Mr. Mehrhof received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Rutgers University, New Brunswick in 1940. During World War II he was employed in engineering and public relations capacities with Wright Aeronautical Corp., Paterson and Curtiss Wright Corp., Woodridge. Following the war he worked in the advertising field and retired in 1985 as president of H.W. Cutler Advertising, Fairfield after 10 years. Following his retirement, he founded KACE Advertising where he consulted in advertising and management matters. He was a longtime member of The Community Church, Mountain Lakes and sang in the choir for many years. He was a member of the Lake Valhalla Club and an avid boater and golfer. His wife, Mary Lucille (nee Haigh), whom he married in 1941, died in 2001. He is survived by a son, Kirby C. Mehrhof and his wife Roberta of Annapolis, MD; a daughter, Marjorie L. Salomon and her husband Mark of Tampa, FL; a sister, Muriel Loree of Mukilteo, WA; three granddaughters, Jennifer Lyn Sack, Cynthia Anne Weclew and Whitney Walker-Mehrhof and three great grandchildren, David Weclew, Branson Sack and Calen Sack. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 18th at 10:00 A.M. at The Community Church, 48 Briarcliff Rd., Mountain Lakes with interment to follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent, NJ. Friends may call Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Mackey Funeral Home (mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton. Memorial contributions in Ken's name may be made to The Community Church, 48 Briarcliff Rd., Mountain Lakes, NJ 07046.
