Reginald R. Hill Obituary

PARSIPPANY---Reginald R. Hill, Sr. died Thursday, January 13, 2011 at St. Clare's Hospital, Denville following a long illness. He was 53.



Born in Plateau, Alabama, he lived in Boonton, then Lake Hiawatha before moving to Parsippany 25 years ago.



Mr. Hill was a clerk with Crum & Foster Insurance Co., Morristown for 17 years before becoming disabled in 2008.



In his youth, he played semi-pro football with the Jersey Oaks football team in Plainfield.



He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Boonton where he formerly served at a trustee and sang with the men's choir. An avid bowler, he was a member of the Utopian Bowling League.



He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Regina G. (nee Sims); two sons, Reginald R., Jr. and Ryne C., both of Parsippany; three brothers, Oscar G., Jr. of Dover and Herbert L. and Wilford T., both of Texas; three sisters, Aurelia Hill of Mobile, AL, Marilyn A. Hill of Louisville, KY and Patricia Y. Hill-Morris and her husband Charles of Dover; his mother-in-law, Margaret Sims of Boonton and many nieces, nephews and godchildren.



Funeral services will be held Friday, January 21, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 140 Plane St., Boonton with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Boonton. Friends may call Thursday evening from 7-9 PM only at the church. Arrangements are by Mackey Funeral Home (mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton
