Belated Happy Birthday Christopher! You are now interred, and we can go visit you any time we want! It was so hard but I think we now have closure. I love you and miss you so much! I know you are happy now, You come visit us in dreams to tell us so. And I know you are watching over us every time I see the cardinal in my back yard. Peace brother!

Chris,
Mike, Tom and I were together for the first time in ages for all of our birthdays this month. I missed my phone call, "Hello, this is Christopher. I just wanted to call and wish you a happy birthday." I can still hear you say it.
Today the Team Don't Die finds out if they got into the NYC marathon. Andrew and Rick deferred last year to run MCM with you, so they're running Andrew's last one this year. He will take you with him on this race too, wishing you were there beside him.
I love and miss you so much,

Hi Chris, went skiing with my boys in Stratton this month and went to the Orvis shop. I still remember you saying how you loved the Orvis stuff and could buy everything in the store. I bought myself a hat that I am sure you would have loved.
I also looked at the Battenkill river we wanted to fish together.. Someday I will go there with my boys. Miss you my friend.

I miss you Christopher. I see a cardinal and I think of you. They come at times when I'm thinking Christohper would be saying "Didn't you do this?" or "shouldn't you do that?" And I think... what would you have said; what guidance would you have given? I need you, but you are gone. My heart still hurts every day.

Hi Chris. Missed you this week. Next week is my birthday but you knew that because you would always remember to call me. I'll miss your call this year. Tina got me this cool sculpture to remember our great times fishing. It came as you see it and it was meant to be. It came with a card that reads "the fish you release is a GIFT to another angler". This fisherman is caught at the special moment were, having planned, toiled, fought and won, euphoria changes to great fullness and satisfaction as the fish recovers and slowly swims away. Thank you for the gifts you gave me. Until we meet again. Your brother greg

We loved you so much. Thank you for being there to share our significant life events, and sending flowers every time you couldn't. Your kindness and love for my family did not go unnoticed. I am so grateful we had dinner Friday night. That I can hold the memory of your smiles, and all the excitement of getting into, talk of training for and running the 2017 Marine Corp Marathon together. We will run...I will run for you and carry you with me. Of course you will have finished WAY faster on your own. I enjoyed our car ride chats, your advice and words of wisdom, the parties, camping, and the regattas at Mercer County park. I will walk that lake and think of you often praying you are at peace and getting all the hugs you deserve. I miss you so much. I think my heart will hurt forever, but you will hurt no more.

I first met Chris Gallo in December 2017, you see he was the first person I on boarded when I worked for Cytec. I remember Tony Bocker, his boss at the time, walked up to my desk and handed me his offer letter with a huge smile on his face and said I need you to on board this guy, he is going to be great. And he was right. Chris was one of the smartest engineers hired at Cytec and now part of Solvay. He was professional, kind, thoughtful, considerate, and just an all around nice guy. Chris and I would pass each other in the office hallway and he always stopped, asked me about my kids and family. He told me about his family, their vacations, and all the wonderful life events that the joys of parenting bring to most of us. In late 2014, Chris and I were appointed into a leadership development program along with other work colleagues. We had the opportunity to work on a huge business project together along with two other colleagues. I always knew how smart he was but he continued to impress me with his business acumen. I was honored to be on a team with someone of his caliber. I remember the first week we had to spend in Mohonk, New York, for our first meeting, Chris had to leave to attend his son, CJ’s high school graduation. The excitement filled his eyes, he was a proud dad.
Over the next few months, working on this project, I did not only gain such business insight from him, but I gained an amazing friendship. For those of you who knew Chris, he had a unique sense of humor, that I have to admit, it took some time to get used to – he loved to make fun of me and tease me, but that is what friends do – we laughed all the time. And he didn’t always open up to people. But along the way, we became the best of friends. We talked about everything….about work, the project, family, kids, sports, fitness, the weather, our chats were endless. I also was going through some challenging times with the illness and passing of both my parents. Chris would text me every day to see how I was doing. He was always available to talk and comfort me through some tough times. A true genuine friend. Being in HR, I was far from being technical or did I understand the lingo of all the engineers I was surrounded with. Chris would take the time to teach me, and explain everything I needed with drawings and charts and examples that made sense to the liberal arts mind I had.
But when he did open up and share about his personal life, I loved to sit and hear him talk about his beautiful wife, his three amazing children, his siblings, his parents, his nieces and nephews, his in laws, his late father in law, and his lifelong buddies. He would share incredible stories about their trips to Vermont, Mohonk, Michigan, Ireland, and of course other trips he took to watch his kids at crew. He was proud of his three kids so much, and he always gave the credit to his wonderful wife, Anna Lisa.
Last week I saw Chris in the office for three days and we attended a work event together. We have been busy with work and our busy travel schedule, that it was nice to get caught up. We were traveling this week to South Carolina and I was looking forward to having my technical engineer friend walk me through the triumphs of all day long meetings. But he wasn’t there. His sudden tragic passing shocked all of us, and I have to admit, I am still in shock. I can’t believe he is really gone. That I will not be able to text him, or call him, or see him again. That I will not be able to hear about graduations, communions, wisdom teeth, crew, college visits, or having a drink with his son in Ireland. I can not express the pain I feel for losing my dear friend, and I pray that his family grows the strength to endure the grief of losing such a remarkable man. I will always cherish every moment we spent together and his friendship. I will forever miss you Chris.
