Obituary of Elsie Gould McClain

KIRKWOOD, NY---Elsie Gould McClain, formerly of Denville and Boonton, died Thursday, November 25, 2010 at Good Shepherd Village following a brief illness. Born in Boonton, she was the daughter of James and Lottie (Baker) Gould. She lived in Denville, McLean, VA and Hackettstown before moving to Kirkwood in 1995. Mrs. McClain was the office manager of Salmon Bros., Inc. in Netcong and the financial secretary of the Morris Hills School District, Denville before retiring in 1967. She was a member of the Boonton Presbyterian Church, where she taught Primary Sunday School and was a member of the senior choir. After moving to Denville, she was a member of the Methodist Church there and then transferred her membership to the Methodist Church in McLean, VA. In Hackettstown she became a member of the Panther Valley Ecumenical Church and upon moving to Kirkwood became a member of the Conklin Presbyterian Church. Her husband, Russell, died in 2009. She is survived by a daughter, Gail of Windsor, NY and two grandsons, Will and his wife Alana Rusin and Mark and his wife Kate Rusin. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 29th at 12:30 P.M. at the Mackey Funeral Home (mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton with interment to follow at Rockaway Valley Cemetery, Boonton Township. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 A.M. on Monday until the time of the service. Memorial contributions in Elsie's name may be made to the Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 633 Third Ave., New York, NY 10017.
