Obituary of Adrian John Penicnak

Adrian John Penicnak Avid Golfer and Model Train Enthusiast Adrian John Penicnak, PhD., 76, of Palm City, FL, formerly of Mountain Lakes, NJ, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015. Born in Chicago, IL, John was the son of Clyde and Helen Penicnak. He graduated from Ripon College (BA), University of South Dakota (MA), and the University of Massachusetts (PhD). His career included ten years at Pfizer Diagnostics as a research chemist; later, plant manager, and Responsible Head of Regulatory Affairs to the FDA. In 1976 L'Oreal hired him for US Research and Development, where he reported to both US and France as SR VP Research and Development. In both companies Dr. Penicnak received numerous patents. John loved golf and became a senior rules official for the FSGA. He was president of the Martin County Model Railroad Club. Currently, the group is expanding to include all types of model train gauges. John loved the potential of youth and talked of life's endless possibilities. He never forgot his humble Polish roots as a second generation American. John was a long time member of the Rockaway River Country Club and the Harbor Ridge Yacht and Golf Club. He is survived by his beloved wife, Fern E. (Borger); devoted children, Deke, Fern Christine (Brian McQueeney), Helen Audrey (Brian Kelly) and Adrianna Jeaninne; and a cherished granddaughter, Delaney Magdalena. A memorial visitation will be held in the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Ave., Boonton, NJ 07005 on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 5 – 8 pm. A Memorial Mass will be offered at Our Lady of Mt.
