Obituary of Ruth Halstead

Ruth Halstead, 92, of Port St. Lucie, FL, formerly of Boonton, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Florida. Born in and a lifelong resident of Boonton, NJ, Ruth was the daughter of Elmer and Pearl Doland. She married Perry Halstead and together they raised their daughter, Donna. Ruth was a secretary and clerk with the Morris County Court House in Morristown, NJ for many years. She was a longtime member of the Boonton United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star in the Boonton and later in the Mountain Lakes Chapter. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Perry. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Beyer and her husband, Wayne, Sr.; grandchildren, Bonnie Nance, Wayne, Jr. and Wesley; great grandchildren, Anthony DeCicco and Russell, Emily, William Perry and Jake Beyer; step great grandchildren, Kayleigh and Alex. Relatives and friends may visit at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 4 – 7 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 10:00 am in the funeral home. The interment will follow at Rockaway Valley Cemetery in Boonton Township.
