Scott and Ann,
Condolences on the loss of your dad. I remember fun times in Mtn Lakes when we were kids, and remember almost driving a VW out the back of your barn at the farm. Don't know how to reach you otherwise; I know my dad would love to call. Sympathy and all good wishes. Tom

It was a pleasure and privilege to have met Bernie. He was a kind, gentle, humble man who always had a smile for everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by his friends at Franciscan Oaks.

He was a true gentleman. I feel fortunate to have known the man. He was brilliant but at the same time just a humble man.

As Head of Reproductive Endocrinology and Inflammation Research at CIBA Pharmaceutical Company Bernie Steinetz was my first “boss.” He oversaw a small group of us as we took on the task of isolating an ovarian hormone named relaxin in the early 1970s. How fortunate it was to have Bernie as a mentor. He approached scientific research with intelligence and dedication, and his patience, generosity and sense of humor enabled a working environment that was both productive and enjoyable. Because of mutual, long interest in research on the hormone relaxin, several of us “relaxinologists,” who are now spread far and wide, have maintained contact with Bernie- the highly valued friend who played such an important role in developing an understanding of the hormone relaxin. He will be missed.
My condolences to Ann, Cliff, Scott and the grandchildren.

I am very sorry for your families loss and a loss of a old friend who did much to help my family and I several decades ago. I will always remember him as a man of great passion for what he did. I never did beat him at tennis and shuffle board was always a treat with him and Jane.
