ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP---Marlene C. (Youngelson) Jastrow of Fox Hills in Rockaway Township passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at St. Clare's Hospital, Denville. Marlene grew up in Dover and lived in Boonton for 38 years. She was the owner of Marlene's Music Center, Boonton from 1978 to 1983 and was an active member of the community. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star since 1965, and was a Past Grand Officer. For many years, Marlene traveled throughout the state as an accomplished organist. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Nile. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Werner; two sons, John S. Jastrow and his wife Christine of Hermitage, TN and Barry Gould and his wife Lisa of South Plainfield; two daughters, Kathryn Davis of Long Valley and Barbara Hayes and her husband Timothy of Lincoln, DE; a sister, Muriel Jacobs of Queensbury, NY; thirteen beloved grandchildren and a cherished great-grandson, all of whom were at her side in the days preceding her death. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 23rd at 10:00 A.M. at the Mackey Funeral Home (mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton, NJ with entombment to follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home with Eastern Star Services to be held at 8:00 P.M. Memorial contributions in Marlene's name may be made to either the American Diabetes Assoc., Center Pointe II, Suite 103, 1160 Route 22 East, Bridgewater, NJ 08807 or the New Jersey Eastern Star Home, 111 Finderne Ave., Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
