When I first started attending King of Kings Church more than eight years ago I often was greeted first with a friendly smile and word from a wonderful older man who I only later found out was a dad to Dottie and Butch.
The memory of John will always remind me of the words of the Psalmist:"I was glad when they said to me, 'Let us go into the house of the LORD.'"

Grandpa, There are so many wonderful memories of you when I was growing up. You introduced my brothers and I to lobster and Shirley Temples, it was always a special treat when we came to visit. That and Grandmas soup she always had ready for us when we arrived from VA. When I heard the news, the first thing that came to mind was the glorious reunion it must have been to be reunited with Grandma after all these years. Your heart never left her and you honored her memory all your remaining years. Thank you for a life of service to others through the war, through being a fire fighter, for the work you did for the church, but most of all, being our Grandpa. May you rest in peace and enjoy your time with Grandma! Check in on my son Donavan... although 5 hours old he is an honorary firefighter. I love you Grandpa.
