Josephine Manna Loving Mother and Grandmother Josephine Manna, 85, of Montville, NJ, formerly of Boonton, NJ and Jersey City, NJ, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2014 at The Chelsea of Montville. Josephine was born in the town of Afragola a Province of Naples, Italy to her parents, Joseph and Margherita Zanfardino. She came to America at the age of 35 and lived in Jersey City, where she and her husband, the late Anthony, raised their family. In 1999 she moved to Boonton where she lived for 13 years before moving to Montville in 2012. Mrs. Manna learned to be a seamstress in Italy, specializing in men's suits. In America she branched out in women's fashions working for Tahari and later opening her own seamstress shop in Jersey City, sharing her talents with her family, friends and clients. Her specialties in fashion were second to her love of family, most especially in the kitchen of her homes where she expressed her love in every meal she prepared. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Anthony. Surviving are her 3 children, Mary Anderson (Jeff), John Manna (April) and Joseph Manna; a sister Maria De Nicolo; and 7 grandchildren, David, Moriah, Michael, Brittany, Ashley, Christopher and Jeremy. Relatives and friends are invited for visitation at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005 on Wednesday, September 17th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X R.C. Church, 24 Changebridge Road, Montville, NJ 07045 on Thursday, September 18th at 10:00 am.
