Please share a memory of Rolland to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rolland "Ron" Taylor, a lifelong resident of Boonton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the NJ Firemen's Home in Boonton. He was 79 years old. Ron was a man of great character and conviction as demonstrated in his faith and volunteerism in the community. A dedicated Episcopalian, he was a lifelong member of St. John's Episcopal Church of Boonton. He was a member of the Maxfield Hook & Ladder Company of the Boonton Volunteer Fire Department where he served for 58 years. He was a representative of the Boonton Relief and Exempt Firemen's Associations. Ron also volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister at the NJ Firemen's Home. Ron worked his entire career of 45 years for Corigliano Motors, Boonton, before retiring in 2000. Ron was a proud US Veteran who served in the US Army. Much to many of RT's friends' chagrin, he was an avid Dodgers Fan! Surviving are his beloved wife of 50 years, Sandy (nee Berg); devoted children Valerie Wagner and her husband Les of Montville, and Tim Taylor of Montville; cherished grandchildren Taylor, Sarah, Larissa, Rhianna and Lester IV. Family, Firemen and Friends are invited for visitation at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ on Tuesday, May 27th from 4 - 7 pm. Followed by a Boonton Fire Department service at 7:00 pm and a religious service at 7:30 pm. Interment is private. To share a memory or extend condolences, please visit www.codeymackeyfh.com. In lieu of flowers, donations to the NJ Firemen's Home, 565 Lathrop St., Boonton or to St. John's Episcopal Church of Boonton, 226 Cornelia Street would be greatly appreciated.
