Henry W. Albert, of Boonton Twp., NJ, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Merry Heart in Boonton. Hank was born, raised and lived his entire life in Boonton and Boonton Twp., except when he served in the US Army. Mr. Albert proudly served in the US Army during WW II. He was in the 284th Field Artillery Battalion, commanded by General Patton. He was at the Invasion of Normandy and received several medals of commendation. Hank retired as a heavy equipment operator with DiGuiseppi Brothers Excavating in Mt. Lakes, NJ. In addition to his work he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was active in the community as a co-founder of the Boonton Twp. Sportsman Club; a founder of the Boonton Twp. Auxiliary Police; and Past President of the Rockaway Valley Men's Club. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Anna (Bott) ; sister, Alice Middleton; and great granddaughter, Isabella Anna. Surviving are his children, Thomas W., and his wife Anita, Barbara J. Fusco, and Edward J.; a brother Richard L.; grandchildren Jennifer, Courtney, Jason and Danielle; and great grandchildren Hannah, Abigail, Nicholas, Elizabeth and Christopher. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at the Codey and Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005 on Sunday, October 13th from 2 - 5 PM.
