Janet C. Evans (nee Burghardt), of Montville, NJ, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at St. Clares Hospital in Denville, NJ. She was 95 years old.Visiting will be held in the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Ave., Boonton, NJ on Thursday, Feb. 14th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Reformed Church of Montville on Friday, Feb. 15th at 11:00am. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Janet was born and raised in Montville. She lived briefly in Bronx, NY prior to moving back to Montville Twp in 1952. Mrs. Evans was a buyer with the Pyro-Chem Corp. in Boonton for 12 years, retiring in 1988.She was a life long member of the Montville Reformed Church and member of the Missionary Circle.Janet was predeceased by her father Albert Burghardt and mother Elizabeth Haag, sisters Veronica Garabrant and Pauline VanDuyne, grandsons Skyler and Xander and her former husband, Walter W. Evans.

She is survived by son Jeffrey W. Evans and wife Aija of Annandale, VA; daughter Janet Leslie Tedesco and husband Timothy of Oakland, NJ; grandchildren Carolyn O'Reilly and husband Paul of Cabin John, MD; Dr. Meredith Caldwell and husband Ian of Vienna, VA; Allison Evans of Richmond VA; Peteris Celms, and Christopher and Edvard Evans of Annandale, VA; Viet Vo and wife Mytham of Twinsburg, Ohio; Rebecca Van Ry and husband Daryl of Morris Plains, NJ; Christina Tedesco of Somerville, MA; Roger Tedesco and wife Martha of NY, NY; and great grandchildren Penny, Ethan, Jude, Luke, Ashyln, Kiersten, Jeff and Chloe.
