Obituary of Allen F. Vreeland, Jr.

MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP---Allen F. "Digger" Vreeland, Jr. died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at the Morris View Healthcare Center, Morris Township, following a long illness. He was 63. Born in Montville, he lived there his entire life. Digger was the owner and operator of Vreeland Farms, Montville for his entire working career until his retirement in 1999. He served in U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War. He graduated from Boonton High School in 1967 and was the past-president of the Morris County Hotline. His sister, Sally Ann Kessler, died in 2007. He is survived by a daughter, Cortney of Lake Hiawatha. Friends are invited to his memorial visitation on Friday, December 28th from 6-9 PM at the Mackey Funeral Home ( www.mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton. A memorial service will be held at the conclusion of visitation beginning at 8:30 P.M. Memorial contributions in Allen's name may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1 Kalisa Way, Suite 205, Paramus, NJ 07652. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
