Richard F. Harty Obituary
MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP---Richard F. Harty died Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital, Rochelle Park, following a long illness. He was 89.
Born in Yonkers, NY, he lived in Ridgefield for 31 years, then Secaucus for 4 years before moving to the Towaco section of Montville 7 years ago.
Mr. Harty was the founder, owner and president of Transportation Services International in Linden for 38 years before retiring in 2010.
He served honorably with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
His wife, Claire Tobin Harty, died in 1972.
He is survived by his son, Richard A. Harty of Montville; three sisters, Catherine Grabeck of Southbury, CT, Mary Brown of Newport, NH and Helen Alvarez of Caladash, NC and two cherished grandchildren, Richard B. Harty and Kaitlin C. Harty.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Mackey Funeral Home ( www.mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton, with interment to follow at Pinelawn National Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. Friends may call on Thursday from 6-9 PM only at the funeral home.
