MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP---Veronica M. "Toots" Kufta died Saturday, August 11, 2012 at her home in Montville following a long and happy life. She was 97. Born in Montville, she was a lifelong resident. Ms. Kufta, also known as "Ronnie", was an executive secretary with Norda Chemical Co., Boonton for 27 years before retiring in 1987. She graduated from Boonton High School in 1933. She was a devoted volunteer at St. Clare's Hospital, Denville, a member of the Boonton Bowling Team and a parishioner at STS. Cyril & Methodius Church, Boonton. In addition, she gave great massages, was always there when a family member was sick and was the life of any party she attended. She was predeceased by six brothers, John A. Kufta, Joseph J. Kufta, Andrew J. Kufta, Jacob J. Kufta, George F. Kufta and Frank G. Kufta. Also predeceasing were three sisters, Mary V. DeVera, Helen M. Barnish and Anna F. Ackerman. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, August 18th at 10:30 A.M. at STS. Cyril & Methodius Church, 215 Hill St., Boonton with interment of her cremated remains to follow at STS. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery. There will be no hours of visitation at the funeral home but the family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday prior to the mass. Memorial contributions in Veronica's name may be made to Volunteer Services Programs, c/o St. Clare's Hospital Foundation, 140 Diamond Spring Rd., Denville, NJ 07834. Envelopes will be available at the church. Arrangements are by Mackey Funeral Home ( www.mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton.
