BLOOMFIELD---Louis J. Russomano died Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Mountainside Hospital, Glen Ridge following a long illness. He was 87.
Born in Newark, he lived in Belleville before moving to Bloomfield 35 years ago.
Mr. Russomano was a plumber with Plumber's Union Local #24, Newark for over 60 years before retiring in 1990. During this time he worked for many companies in the northern New Jersey area.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a parishioner at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Bloomfield.
He was predeceased by a sister, Loretta McCullough.
Louis is survived by his wife of 38 years, Giovannina "Jenny" (nee Malgieri); five brothers, Albert of San Antonio, TX, John of Colts Neck, Thomas of Cedar Knolls, Ralph of Monroe Township and Patrick of Belleville; three sisters, Patricia Krebs of Boonton, Mildred Manto of Kenilworth and Genevieve Poisseroux of Stanhope and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 23rd at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 910 Birch St., Boonton with interment to follow at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 5-8 PM only at the Mackey Funeral Home ( www.mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton.
