Marco and I were roommates both freshman year and junior year at PC but lost touch after college. As a young man he was a great friend that you could really count on. I only learned about this recently and am very sad about this news. The world really lost a good one at too young of an age.

I feel blessed to have had an opportunity to witness the love between Marco and Danielle and their girls. The family they created was an inspiration to us all. I hope there is some comfort in knowing how many lives Marco touched during his short time with us. I pray for the Cera and McGinnis family as they grieve this horrible loss.

I think you can say someone lived a successful life when other people feel they are better because they got to know the individual. I can say that I feel I am a better person because I got to know Marco. I enjoyed our laughs and cries on the bench during basketball games. Marco always went out of his way to help me in all aspects of life. For that; I am truly grateful. I can only say, thank you Marco. We’ll miss you.

You were a part of many of my wonderful summertime memories, back when we were young, crazy and silly. Our paths didn't cross again, after the youthful craziness faded and we grew up. But I love hearing/reading about the wonderful, smart, compassionate, outgoing and kind man you became. We can all only hope to be remembered as fondly as you are now. My prayers and condolences to your family as they deal with this difficult time. May you forever be in peace now.

We were deeply saddened for your loss. We are praying for Marco's entire family. Even though his life on Earth was too short, he led a full and happy life. He had the gift of a loving family, he had a fruitful marriage to our beautiful friend Danielle and he was blessed with two adorable girls Gabriella & Nina. He will be remembered forever by all those lives he touched. He is now at peace and he will be your angel watching and guiding you.

My daughter transferred during her second year of school to FAMS. Mr. Cera, greeted and identified her, impressing her with his mastery of her name. He was warm, kind and charming. Traversing the school corridors, she would share with me anecdotes he would inspire, validating her hopes for the future with mere words of encouragement. Mr. Cera, accompanied the 2010 graduating class to Six Flags an educational, fun and cherished memory, since that event prompted my daughter to expand on her very first roller coaster ride...by his example. Mr. Cera, personified our ideal Principal, representing many endearing qualities…it was both an honour and a privilege having him at FAMS.
To the Cera family…it is with sincere regret, that we express our heartfelt condolences on your loss. Mr. Cera, established high standards by his dedication and devotion and we regret his suffering through such a difficult illness. May God bless and comfort your family during this time of sorrow.

Dear Mr. Cera,
Where ever you are, I want you know that you are a very special person who really touched my life. I knew you for only a few years but because you were so loving and warm I felt as if I knew my whole life. You always had this amazing sprit that you carried with you wherever you went. That sprit still travels through the halls and classrooms at FAMS and always will. You will always be missed but you will never be forgotten. I pray for your daughters but part me knows they will be strong because they had a great teacher.
Your Student,
Reilly White

The beautiful Cera Family is part our of dance family at DAA. Marco was always there with a smile, funny comment, ever thoughtful words. He was so proud of his girls and it showed when he beamed with pride watching them dance. Maroo has left quite a legacy, his wonderful daughters, beautiful wife, all the lives he touched. I will thank God every day for giving me the opportunity to have met him, for too brief a time, and for gracing us all with his prescence. He is now an angel in heaven. We will stand beside his family with love and faith.

Marco was a good friend of mine when we were kids. It's been a long time since I've seen him, and while I'm sad he's left us way too soon, I'm glad to hear about all he has done with his life and how much happiness he brought to so many - and I'm sure that's not going to end. I hope the stories and memories of Marco will be a comfort to the Ceras and all his friends, coworkers, and students.

One of my strongest memories of Mr. Cera when he was principal of FAMS, was that he seemed to know every student's name. So when he walked down the hall, he would see you and say, "Hi _______! How are you?" He really knew how to make you feel welcome.
To the family of Mr. Cera, please accept my condolences and look upon him with nothing but pride and affection, because he was a wonderful person and a great educator.
Loving regards,

Marco,
We still think of you as one of the boys playing never-ending Monopoly games with Dan, Mark and Ryan on our picnic table. It started in June on lunch break between dashes to the beach and ended in September with the start of school. We remember the lacrosse games, too, and how good a player you were. One of the good guys.
We know you are in a better place, now. Our condolences to your family.

I always remember the first day of school, each year, wondering who would be in class with me. Seeing Marco always brought a sort of “relief” my way because I instantaneously knew the class would be more exciting and fun. Marco would always raise his hand; he would always challenge. Sometimes I would gaze in his direction and he’d meet me half way with that, “holy cow is this boring” look. Other times I would look at him and admire him from afar because he was lost in the lesson. He was charismatic, goofy at times, ever the charmer and always an amazing friend. You couldn’t help but smile when in his company. I am learning now about all of his successes and I am in awe over his dedication for education and the love he has for his beautiful family. He made huge strides in a short amount of time & I have no doubt that he touched the lives of so many students as he has friends. You will be missed, MC. God bless you and your family. XO

Marco and I were students at OLM. We got along really well, except when we didn't. ;-) I recall us having several fights during recess, but still being friends afterwards. I wish I had known earlier about his condition. I found out last year that I have cancer, and I would have loved to catch up and talk about our experiences.
