MOUNTAIN LAKES---Jill Elizabeth (Muchler) Knowles died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Compassionate Care Hospice, Dover. She was 67. Born in Camden, she grew up in Merchantville, then lived for several years on Long Island before moving to Mountain Lakes 42 years ago. Mrs. Knowles was a teacher at The Wilson School, Mountain Lakes for 17 years before retiring in 1987. Jill graduated from Pennsauken High School and received her bachelor of arts degree, Cum Laude, in the Classics from Douglas College in 1966. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, the American Association of University Women and the League of Women Voters, all Mountain Lakes. She enjoyed teaching, Long Beach Island and traveling with her husband. Devoted to her family, she is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Clive; her two beloved children, Jennifer K. Echard of Fairfax Station, VA and Geoffrey A. Knowles of Alpharetta, GA; her six cherished grandchildren, Dalton, Lexy and Laurel Echard and Lindsey, Owen and Wyatt Knowles and by her large extended family. Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 16th at 2:00 P.M. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 215 Boulevard, Mountain Lakes followed by the interment of her cremated remains in St. Peter's Garth. There will be no hours of visitation. Memorial contributions in Jill's name may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society ( www.nationalMSsociety.org), New Jersey Metro Chapter, Suite 205, One Kalisa Way, Paramus, NJ 07652. Arrangements are by Mackey Funeral Home ( www.mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton.
