DENVILLE---Anne E. (McGaughey) Harte died Monday, December 19, 2011 at Franciscan Oaks Health Center, Denville following a long illness. She was 89. Born and raised in Boston, she lived in Fairfield, NJ for a number of years, then Bonita Springs, FL for 6 years before moving to Denville in 2002. She received her bachelor's degree from Sargent College, Boston University. Along with her husband, Jim (who predeceased her in 1985) she founded, published and was the managing editor of The Chronicle, a weekly newspaper based in Fairfield for 12 years before retiring in 1983. Active in the Fairfield community, she helped form the Fairfield Bicentennial Committee, was a member of the Mayor's Advisory Committee and as an active parishioner at St. Thomas More Church, was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and co-founder of the youth programs at the church in the early 70's. Anne was a former member of the New Jersey Press Association, the Motion Picture Commission of New Jersey and the West Essex Chamber of Commerce. She is survived by her five daughters, Patricia Bratt of Montclair, Mary Ellen Mackey and her husband Dean of Boonton, Anne Marie Nasto and her husband Paul of Fairfax, VA, Carol Harte of Amsterdam, Holland and Katherine Roach and her husband Larry of Boiling Springs, PA; two sisters, Margaret T. Quinn of Marshfield, MA and Katherine Parolin of Naples, FL .She also cherished her seven grandchildren, James, Deanna, Rachel, Jonathan, Patrick, Erica and Kristin, whom she supported in all their endeavors. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, December 23rd at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Boonton with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Boonton. Friends may call Thursday from 4-7 PM only at the Mackey Funeral Home (mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton. Memorial contributions in Anne's name may be made to either the Academy of Clinical & Applied Psychoanalysis (ACAP), 301 S. Livingston Ave., 2nd Floor, Livingston, NJ 07059 or to the Boonton Kiwanis Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 16, Boonton, NJ 07005. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
