Carole Patricia Fitzgerald of South Nyack, NY passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the age of 86.

Pat, as she’s fondly remembered by family, was born in Brooklyn, NY to Arthur and Virginia (Davitt) Fitzgerald in December 1938. After spending most of her childhood in Brooklyn, Pat moved to New Jersey as a teenager. She graduated from Westwood High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ.

Pat went into social work and was employed in the Rockland County district of New York State.

As a young adult, she devoted much of her spare time to renovating her home and cooking in her spacious kitchen. Over time, Pat’s focus turned to crocheting, reading, creating jewelry and enjoying local art. She loved animals, the quiet of the Adirondacks and the unique shops and restaurants found near her home.

Survived by her niece, Stephanie Kaiser, her husband, Kevin and their son, Michael, all of Montville, NJ; her brother-in-law, Eli Brello, as well as a large contingent of cousins with whom she was close, especially Peggy Jacobson. Pat was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Rena Brello.

A gathering will take place on Saturday, March 29th at St. Pius X R.C. Church, 24 Changebridge Rd, Montville, NJ from 9:00 to 10:00am in the narthex of the church. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am, and the burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Ave, East Hanover, NJ.
