William’s family: I'm so sorry for your loss. I went through a similar situation and I was very helped by the hope that I found in the Bible in John 5: 28, which says, "Do not amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I am sending you a link with more information on this hope.

Everyone -
Bill and I were never truly close, But with that said when we were together (normally at sad events) he was always a friend, a confidant, and always told a humorous family story or two. He made a point of seeking me out. I really enjoyed being with him. I so truly enjoyed it.
I had no idea of his heroism. That was never shared. I so wish I had known a few years ago before visiting Normandy. I would have asked for his memories, although I suspect he would have declined sharing them. I did know of his love of family, I did know that he cared deeply for you all.
I'm so sorry for your loss, but I celebrate your memories. Those will be with you (and me) forever.

It was with a sense of sadness and loss that I read of Bill's passing today
Bill and I worked together several times at New Jersey Bell.
On more than one occasion we shared a drink after work.
I knew he served in World War 2 but he never discussed the extent. He never talked about Korea or the Purple hearts awards
We often hear the term "The Greatest Generation" in reference to WW 2 Service
Bill personified the qualities implied in that term
May he Rest In Peace
