Rev. Owen W. Rogers, of Parsippany, NJ, formerly of Montclair, NJ went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 6, 2018. He was 93 years old. Born & raised in Mendham, NJ, he was the son of the late Luther and the late Mary (Sparkman) Rogers. He was married to Odessa (Hudson) for 75 years. Rev. Rogers was a Baptist Minister and the Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Boonton Township, NJ for 43 years. He is survived by his wife, Odessa (Hudson) Rogers; children Madlyn Norwood, Maxine Ingram, Naomi Sam-Krapka, Angelique Norman and her husband, Gerald, and Cortland Rogers; a sister, Lavenia Mason; also15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. A Celebration of his life and ministry will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 4 Church Rd., Boonton Township, NJ with visitation on Sunday, April 15th from 3-5 pm and Monday, April 16th from 10 am – 11 am with a service beginning at 11:00 am. The interment will follow immediately at Heavenly Rest Memorial Park, East Hanover. Arrangements in care of the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home of Boonton, NJ (www.codeymackeyfh.com)
