James Anthony Carrazza, Jr., 86 of Boonton passed away on June 30, 2016. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 910 Birch St. Boonton on Tuesday. Please check mackeyfh.com for Mass time. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. A Visitation will be held at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Ave. Boonton on Sunday from 1-5 PM. Born in Brooklyn, NY, James moved to Rockaway in 1958 and then Boonton 17 years ago. He graduated Spring Hill College in Alabama and then began working as a Chemical Engineer at Picatinny Arsenal for the Department of Defense for many years. He loved taking trips to the casinos in Atlantic City, avidly playing all kinds of penny slots. James was the son of the late Vincent and Candida (nee Coniglione) Carrazza, who are from Montemurro Basilicata, Italy and Licodia Eubea Sicily, respectively. He was the beloved husband of the late Grace (nee Giglio); loving father of James Carrazza and his wife Carolynn, Grace Piscopo and her husband Ken and Michael Carrazza; brother of the late Rosemary Caruso; and dear grandfather of Alisha, Deanna, Jaimee and Cameron Carrazza, Kenneth, Michael and Matthew Piscopo, Nicolette and Michael Carrazza. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
