Bruce Albert Cassella, 87, of Boonton Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026.


Bruce was born in Passaic to Hugo and Anastasia (De Roever) Cassella in the spring of 1938. He grew up in East Rutherford and graduated from East Rutherford High School, a three-peat letterman, earning scholarships in basketball and baseball to Rutgers University.


Upon graduation with a bachelor’s degree, Bruce began work at the Federal Reserve in New York City. He made it his lifelong career, becoming a Vice President before retiring after 38 years.


Bruce enjoyed playing tennis, becoming locally ranked in the USTA in New England. He also skied, hiked and played paddle at the Park Lakes Tennis Club in Mountain Lakes. Bruce liked to keep active…a lifelong pursuit.


He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Susan Cassella (nee Perkins); his cherished daughter, Stacey Joyce and her husband, Edward; his adored grandchildren, Cameron and Tessa Joyce; and his loving brothers, Hugh Cassella (Betty Lou) and James Cassella (Janice).
