Obituary of Carlos Ribeiro
Carlos Ribeiro of Boonton Township, NJ, suddenly passed of heart failure on Thursday, March 8, 2018, leaving his family and friends to grieve a deep loss.
Carlos, a beloved and devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend was born in Nazare, Portugal to Maria Julia Macieira and Joao Pedro Ribeiro. He graduated from Essex Catholic High School in Newark, NJ in 1978; Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre PA and went on to earn a degree in Engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Most recently he worked as the Global IT Operations Manager for Dematic. His 30+ year Engineering and IT career included 15 years at Honeywell, as well as, Trecom, The A & P Corp, and others.
Most of all, his passion was his family, and those who knew him know that his definition of family was not bound by blood. He loved soccer, sports, traveling and being involved in his community. He coached soccer and was a mentor to many.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Fernanda; devoted sons, Joshua, Clay, Brandon; loving parents, Joao and Maria; a sister Celia Longendyck and her family.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 11th from 2-6 pm at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, March 12th at 10:00 am in St. Catherine of Siena R.C. Church, 10 N. Pocono Road, Mountain Lakes.
