William T. McCrink, 63, of Denville, NJ, a local business owner and adventurer passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 5, 2017. Born in Orange, NJ to Frank and Adeline (Sullivan) McCrink, Bill was the eldest of five children raised in Fairfield, NJ. At a young age, Bill's father instilled a love of life, art, and adventure which followed him throughout his entire life. He was an avid skier, mountaineer, and outdoorsman who was drawn to Tuckerman Ravine on Mount Washington, NH. He attained black belt in Japanese martial arts. Being a talented guitarist with a prized twelve-string Martin guitar, he also enjoyed hand crafting his own. He was also a licensed private pilot and instructor who once flew with his family around the country in a Piper Arrow. He was active with the Jersey Ridge Soaring club located at Blairstown Airport, and he shared his passion for flying with his siblings, children, and best friends. A graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, he joined the family business, Pure Rubber Products, Co. in Fairfield, then Rockaway, NJ. He was the third-generation owner and president of the company, producing precision rubber products in the U.S.A. since 1935. Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia (Birgfeld); devoted daughter, Hilliary, and step-children, Adam and Heather Enea; loving siblings, Timothy and David McCrink, Kathleen Williamson and MaryLou Bellesheim; cherished grandchildren, Corbin and Nolan Mohan; and treasured aunts, Anne McGurk, Joan Sullivan, and Frances McCrink. He will be remembered for his unending love, kindness, and compassion toward all whom he met. Bill's life will be celebrated with a visitation on Tuesday, October 10th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Ave., Boonton, NJ. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, October 11th at 10:00 am at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 15 Myers Ave., Denville, NJ. The interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's memory to the Eagle Fund of the Soaring Society of America, www.ssa.org, would be deeply appreciated.
