Obituary of Christine Roy

Christine K. Eddy-Roy, 57, of Hackettstown, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 22, 2017 after a courageous fight with cancer.

A "Celebration of Life" Memorial Service will be held at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, Boonton, NJ. Saturday, June 17 at 1PM. A private burial will be held directly after. The Rev. Richard Horn will be officiating.

Christine was born in 1959 in Plainfield NJ to Keith C. and Ethel C. Eddy. She grew up in Westfield, NJ/Tower Lakes, IL, eventually moving to Mt. Lakes, NJ.

Christine's mother grew ill during her early teens. Upon Mrs. Eddy's passing, Christine stepped up to the roll of mom, making sure that her siblings and their home were well taken care of. She was able to maintain good grades and was very active in cheerleading and GAA (Girls Athletic Association), graduating from Mountain Lakes High School in 1977. Christine went on to receive her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at University of Charleston, West Virginia, Gamma Delta Fi, class of 1981. She was employed by Casio, Inc. in Dover, NJ for over 35 years, most recently as a Director, Sales Order Processing and was dearly loved and respected by her coworkers. She was passionate about her health, an active member/part time employee at Flex Fitness in Panther Valley, NJ, where she would light up a room with her smile and enthusiasm. Her caring heart would shine wherever she was present. She loved animals, especially her dog, Monster and two cats.

Christine is survived by her daughter, Taylor Roy (partner Gregory Hammill), who she loved with all her heart, her loving Father, Keith of Waterford, VT, her brothers; Michael of Hackettstown, NJ, Steven (wife Judy) of Waterford, VT, Glenn (wife Jacquie) of Waxhah, NC, Kevin (wife Lisa) of Aurora, OH, and Kent of Delta, CO; several nieces and nephews, stepsisters and stepbrothers, and a multitude of cousins, all who will miss her terribly. Christine was predeceased in death by her mother, Ethel, Stepmother Sydna, and sister-in-law, Veronica Banky Eddy (Ronni).

Her family wishes to extend their gratitude to all of the nurses and doctors who took care of her while fighting her illness and to all family and friends who called, texted, visited and reached out to let her know that she was loved and not alone
