Bruce A. Baver, 83 of Boonton Twp. passed away on August 12, 2016. Visitation will be held in the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Ave. Boonton on Tuesday from 4-7 PM, with a Funeral Service taking place at 6 PM. Cremation will be private. Born in New York City, Bruce was longtime Boonton Twp. resident. He was a music teacher in the Mountain Lakes School System for many years. Working with the hard of hearing throughout his career, he was also the middle school's Band director. Mr. Baver loved all things classical music, and was a church musician and choir director at the Community Church of Mountain Lakes. He was also an avid golfer, traveler and opera fan who enjoyed spending time at his condo in Fort Myers, Fla. Bruce was the beloved partner of the late Mary Kimball; loving father of Marjorie Roller and her husband Carl, Amanda Thompson and her husband Jack, Wesley Baver and the late Christopher and Robert Baver; dear grandfather of Samantha Chalkley and her husband Clinton, Christopher Roller, Caitlin Roller, Kevin Baver, Thomas Roller, Cassandra Thompson, Matthew Thompson and Alexandra Thompson; great-grandfather of Clinton Chalkley V; and brother of Clyde Baver and his wife Martha. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bruce's memory may be made to the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation at www.bbrfoundation.org.
